Steidle joins Penguin organization
Former Geisinger certified athletic trainer Patrick Steidle, ATC, was recently named assistant athletic trainer for the Pittsburgh Penguins National Hockey League club. Steidle, who joined Geisinger Sports Medicine in 2007, had been the head athletic trainer for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins American Hockey League organization since the team’s inaugural season in 1999. The Moscow, PA, native and East Stroudsburg University graduate had been behind the bench for 1,069 of the 1,072 games in franchise history and has garnered league wide respect from players, coaches and peers. The entire Geisinger Sports Medicine family wishes Patrick all the best on his new endeavor.

Geisinger Sports Medicine sponsors the River Towns Race Series, which hosts a variety of races from running to biking and 5Ks to marathons, spanning the spring, summer and fall seasons. These races can be found in various locations in Central Pennsylvania from Wyalusing, Lewisburg, Shamokin and many more.

Need another good reason to get out there and get active? Wilkes-Barre Racing is hosting races this fall to raise money for the "Dave Thomas for Adoptions Fund." These races include a half marathon, 10K, and 1-mile run. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start training.
