Head
Staying active is a healthy-living practice, but participating in strenuous activities may leave you vulnerable to head and facial injuries, even when wearing a helmet. For sports-related injuries to the head and face, the experts at Geisinger Sports Medicine partner with Geisinger’s fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
Head and facial injuries can affect your ability to breathe, speak, swallow and see. From mild injuries such as abrasions, contusions and lacerations to severe concussions and facial fractures, you need quick and accurate assessments.
Geisinger’s physicians and Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are trained to provide a rapid, accurate assessment of head and facial injuries, and to coordinate care of their athletes.
